BLAS - Health and Wellbeing

BLAS works to support our communities through the arts - our workshops include Caffi Babis, Dance For Parkinsons and more, and provide a safe space for people of all ages to take part.

EFO DAD

Efo Dad is a project that developed from research showing that fathers needed more support in their role as parents. We want to encourage fathers, and show that traditional 'parent and baby' spaces are also spaces for fathers. This is a space for new parents to meet other fathers, and have practical and emotional support. The aim of the project is to create a community that supports the mental health and wellbeing of man, as well as celebrating their roles as parents.

As part of the work, the project is researching the affect of sessions for fathers only, so that we can understand fully how to create a safe space for fathers.

BLAS and North Wales Medical School Partnership

BLAS and the North Wales Medical School have embarked on an exciting partnership to integrate Arts-Based Medical Education, Storytelling, Narrative Medicine and Empathy into the training of future healthcare professionals. Furthermore, Mared and Nia are collaborating to promote within the NHS the powerful role of the arts in healthcare.
